Think autumn and images of maple, elm and oak trees sporting burnt orange, mustard yellow and forest green leaves come to mind.
And because the autumn colours are out in full force, we thought it’d be a good idea to bring you a list of Adelaide’s best places to see autumn leaves (and take some Instaworthy photos!)
Mount Lofty Botanic Garden
Mount Lofty Botanic Garden is one of the best places in Adelaide to enjoy autumn leaves. Lots of trees sporting lots of autumn leaves, and together it looks like a picturesque painting. The areas around the Main Lake and the Duck Pond are the best places to enjoy the leaves!

Adelaide Hills and autumn go hand in hand. A casual drive through the Adelaide Hills will allow you to see the autumn sights – and smell the crisp autumn air. Start with the tree lined streets of Stirling and head to homely Hahndorf. Make sure to stop at places like Beerenberg, Lobethal, Bridgewater and Woodside – for delicious strawberries, food and wine too!

Victoria Avenue, Unley Park
Closer to ‘home’ is Victoria Avenue, Unley Park. Touted as one of the most prestigious streets in Adelaide, it is also one of the most scenic, come autumn. Hundreds of trees line the streets, while thousands of colourful leaves pepper the sidewalks. Don’t forget your camera and gloves for a good old fashion leaf fight!
