It’s time to get the winter woolies out and start lacing up those skates because this winter – Adelaide is getting not one, but THREE, pop up ice skating rinks. Don’t slip up, and be sure to check out one of these ice skating spots this winter:
1. Winter Wonderland
Everyone needs a little magic in their lives. Winter Wonderland returns to Glenelg and will run from 1 July to 22 July 2018! So strap on your skates and glide under South Australia’s first clear domed marquee. And why not try your hand at Tobogganing down a 25m genuine ice slide. Come rain, hail or shine; morning, noon or night bring the family and skate by Adelaide’s favourite beach.
2. Skating at Adelaide
The Skating At Festival will be coming to Adelaide this winter offering a unique winter wonderland ice-skating experience. In its first year, Adelaide’s pop-up ice-skating rink will be located in the city centre at Victoria Square from 29 June to 22 July 2018. The open-air ice rink offers a world-class family friendly entertainment precinct with magical lighting, music, fantastic rides including ice slides, jumping castles, a Ferris Wheel and delicious food and drink options.
The popular Port Adelaide festival, Winterfest, is back for the second year running from 6 July to 22 July 2018. In true winter festival spirit, there will be an ice-skating rink at the banks of the Port River and a winter market featuring local South Australian stalls, live music, winter workshops and food trucks.
