What do our ambassadors do?

Assist with our student events, programs and activities

  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of student events, programs and activities including set up and pack down.
  • Participate in orientation events to welcome new international students and help them integrate into the local community.
  • Provide information and support to current and prospective students.


Promote Adelaide as a study destination

  • Actively promote Adelaide as a destination for international students.
  • Share personal experiences and insights about living and studying in Adelaide.


Social media and online presence

  • Use social media platforms to share experiences, insights, and information about studying in Adelaide.
  • Contribute to blogs, vlogs, or other online content to reach a wider audience as required.


Represent StudyAdelaide

  • Represent StudyAdelaide at various events, both on and off-campus.
  • Engage with the local community and promoting positive relationships between international students and the broader community.


Provide feedback

  • Share feedback from international students about their experiences and challenges.


Professional Development:

  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance communication, leadership, and intercultural skills.


What makes a great ambassador?

Someone who is:

  • Energetic, friendly and eager to help deliver fun events and programs for their peers
  • Prepared to take on a challenging experience that will push them to develop personally and professionally
  • Passionate about living and studying in Adelaide
  • Active member of the international student and local community
  • Active social media user
  • Volunteer experience either in Adelaide or prior to arriving in Adelaide
  • Available for 5-10 hours per month
  • Possess strong communication skills
  • Committed to the ambassador role from April 2024 to March 2025

  • You are able to share experiences and knowledge with the international student community and are a confident public speaker.
  • You are able to offer advice on initiatives, activities, events and support services that you think will be benefit international students.


In return, you will receive from StudyAdelaide:

  • Experience: In event organisation, leadership, public speaking, social interaction and social media engagement.
  • Wage: An hourly rate will be provided for your time.
  • Contacts: As one of our Ambassadors, you’ll get the opportunity to network with South Australia’s political, business and community leaders.
  • Support: You’ll also get to know the StudyAdelaide team – a passionate group of professionals with experience in marketing, media and social engagement.
  • Invitations: You will be invited to key industry events and social functions organised by StudyAdelaide.
  • Free training: In developing leadership skills.
  • Certificate: Presented by the Governor of South Australia.
  • Uniform: StudyAdelaide will provide you with a branded uniform to be worn at StudyAdelaide events.


Who can apply?

Anyone who is:

  • 18 years of age or over at 1 March 2024
  • A current student at one of StudyAdelaide’s member institutions
  • Enrolled at your institution until at least December 2024

Applications close 11.59pm Sunday 25 February 2024. Successful applicants will be contacted for an interview.
