What is the Cabaret Festival?
Adelaide Cabaret Festival is a major event on the Australian arts calendar and is the most comprehensive cabaret festival in the world. Every year commencing on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend, local, national and international artists come together to bring Adelaide the best classic and contemporary cabaret performances.
What should I watch?
The Adelaide Cabaret Festival features more than 330 artists from five countries in over 80 performances. You can view the full program here. Or keep reading to find out some of our top picks:
The Cat Empire
The Cat Empire is a high energy jazz band, made famous for their fiercely uplifting live shows and their signature horn section. You can expect exotic sounds, party vibes, catchy songs and some great DJ skills at this performance!
Adelaide-based Tom Flanagan stars in Kaput! a part-comedy, part acrobatic show. Flanagan takes on the persona of Mr Fix It, a happy go lucky character who is super clumsy and super acrobatic. He back-flips aplenty, he slips and he springs across the stage – and all without saying a word!
Wayne Brady in Brady AF
Wayne Brady doesn’t need an introduction. But if you must know, Wayne Brady is five-time Emmy winner, Grammy nominee and star of Whose Line is it Anyway. In this must see show, Brady improvises, acts, sings, dances and more!
