Entry Requirements

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or equivalent. Applicants without an honours degree in engineering must provide evidence of formal qualifications and professional work experience providing equivalent learning outcomes.

English Language Requirements

IELTS: Overall 6.5 (Reading 6, Listening 6, Speaking 6, Writing 6); TOEFL: Internet-based: Total score of 79 with a minimum of 21 in Writing, 18 in Speaking and 13 in Reading and Listening; TOEFL Paper-based: Total score of 577 with a minimum of 4.5 in the Test of Written English (TWE); Pearsons: Overall 58 (Reading 50, Listening 50, Speaking 50, Writing 50); Cambridge: Overall 176 (Reading 169, Listening 169, Speaking 169, Writing 169).

What will you do?

Our marine engineering programs are structured so students can complete qualifications in steps. This approach lets you complete our Graduate Certificate in Marine Engineering after six months, the Graduate Diploma in Marine Engineering after 12 and a Master of Marine Engineering after 18. You will:

develop and enhance prior expertise

build highly sought after knowledge and practical skills

take core courses intensively, allowing you to complete Submarine Design, Naval Ship Engineering and Systems Engineering within six months

choose from a wide range of specialist electives.

Industry-sponsored students will also gain practical experience through workplace projects.

This program is delivered in collaboration with ASC, Australia's builder and sustainer of the Navy's fleet of Collins Class submarines.

Degree Structure

The graduate certificate is a 12-unit program with students undertaking 9 units of core courses and one elective course.

Midyear entry candidates, please note: not all courses are available in semester two so the program must be undertaken part-time.
